Terastation and Azure

I have an older Buffalo TeraStation but it still has SMB2 protocol enabled

The problem is that when I try to connect to it from an AzureAD joined/connected laptop (connected via AzureAD\username and PW) I can ONLY access the shares if NFS is enabled on the TeraStation, despite the fact that SMB 2 is enabled

I am using windows 10 21h1 latest build

I believe the latest windows has disabled smbv2 as it is also listed as an insecure protocol...
Maybe this will help you?

Ah ha - makes sense as the Synolgy can handle SMB1-3
But it still does not explain why I cannot access unless nfs is enabled as I have already enabled SMB 1 and 2 in windows, unless SMB2 is no fully disabled in windows 10
If it is, why allow a user to enable it?
