Expand an object from the top left corner in a Powerpoint animation

I am trying to create an entrance animation for an object that starts from the top left corner of the object and expands to the bottom right. For example, if the revealed object was a square picture with the top left corner at a specific point on the screen, it would start expanding from that point in all directions to reveal the complete object.

I've tried various built-in animations but, these only seem to allow the object to expand from it's centre (or the screen centre) or to stretch from the top or sides.

This is a perfect application for the Morph transition. You will duplicate the slide and change the size and location of the object on the second slide. Now navigate to Transitions>Morph. Here is a nice tutorial Use the Morph transition in PowerPoint (microsoft.com)

Hi John
Thanks for your help. Well explained and worked like a charm. I also discovered that by moving the blank rectangle to different corners of the original object you can make it expand from any of the four corners, which is perfect for my slide, as it has 4 boxes in a 2 x 2 matrix.

Regards

Terry

PowerPoint is a slide show presentation program currently developed by Microsoft. PowerPoint presentations consist of a number of individual pages or "slides" that may contain text, graphics, sound, movies, and other objects, which may be arranged freely. The presentation can be printed, displayed live on a computer, or navigated through at the command of the presenter. Slides can also form the basis of webcasts.
