Figure 1.pngFigure 2png.pngFigure 3.pngI have a DS418 . My LAN has only static ip addresses. No DHCP. I installed the Synology assistant program onto my laptop . Initially I was able to connect to the DS418 using a static ip address and I downloaded and installed the latest DSM software. The DS418 rebooted itself and now , no matter what I do , I cannot connect to the DS418.
I have inserted a paper clip into the reset button and, after 4 seconds, removed the paper clip . My understanding is this would reset so I could once again try to connect using Synology assistant.
When I try to connect using Synology assistant, it shows the DS418 exists. See attachment figure 1.
So I double click on the DHCP and the program asks for a login. See figure 2. Well, there is NOT any login. I cannot get that far in the configuration process.
So click on Next. See figure 3
It asks for a static ip. Initially I had assigned 192.168.0.36 and was able to connect to the DS418 as I said above. Now I enter 192.168.0.36 and this Synology assistant program then tells me the ip address is in use and asks me to enter an administrator account. This is SO FRUSTRATING. I cannot enter an administrator account because I cannot connect to the DS418
What must I do now to connect to the DS418 so I can enter an administrator account and continue the configuration?
