Iphone Outlook app wants to sign in to old email

We just migrated from gsuite to office 365.  I have users that used to use the Outlook app on their iphone to connect to their gsuite work accounts.  Now they need to connect to the same email address under MS 365, however the outlook iphone app wants to sign in to the gmail account.  I can't figure a way to get around this.  Any ideas as we tried all the options on the phone to create a new account and so forth.

Maybe the Outlook app is caching it, was a reinstall of the app tried. Did you compare against the built-in mobile app by Apple the blue background Mail app....does it behave the same...?

Does anyone have an Android in your organization or all iPhone's?

I think if I recall if you log in to the web version of the Microsoft account, you may be able to unassociate a device as if it's being set up but that may apply to just personal accounts.

Did you state you had an open Microsoft support case....earlier in another question regarding the migration issue(s)?

I deleted the app and same problem.

It works on the normal Mail app, but we need it to work on the Outlook app.  Everyone using the Outlook app on iPhone is having this problem.  Have not dealt with Android Outlook situation yet.
Weird.  Is there an error when they re-add their account or it just rejects the login? Were you ever using app passwords in the environment?
No error.  There are no app passwords at the moment, but that wouldn't matter because the login screen during the process is not in MS but its a google sign in.
In your admin portal, are you allowing mobile?

You can also do this individually by logging into the exchange admin portal, clicking on a user and there is an option for managing apps that looks like below

Once this is enabled on the admin side, they should have an option of selecting which type of email account they want to add. They should use an option for either M365 or Exchange. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/set-up-an-outlook-account-in-the-ios-mail-app-b2de2161-cc1d-49ef-9ef9-81acd1c8e234#bkmk_commscenarios

Above is like asking like, "Is your computer plugged in"  and is probably not required as I re-read your question because you are saying it is only for IOS.

Perhaps check that the mail settings has the old account.  In ios, go to settings and mail and review what is there. You may need to delete the email account with the same name and then add it back in outlook. Or set up email manually. As a matter of fact, if you use the manual option, you may see that it is pointing to gmail.

Can you check Accounts in Settings on the iPhone and look for the Gmail (or Google) entry, open that entry and see if Mail is enabled. If so, can you try disabling that Mail slider?
