Removing access to sharepoint for a user AND remove the local files

I have a user that has a Sharepoint folder localled synced to their Windows 10 PC.  Now I want to remove access to the Sharepoint folder for that user.  Once I remove the access, I notice that the Sharepoint files that were synced, are still on his computer.  Of course he has no ability to upload any updates anymore to the sharepoint, but the files previously are still on his machine.  Is there a way to remotely remove those files when cutting access to a user in Sharepoint.  This seems like a pretty big deal when it comes data security.

What is the relationship of the user on the local PC and the sharepoint?

Presumably you have access to both as an Admin.

They have a direct share.  They are not an admin.  Standard user.

I meant you to their local folders/files.

you are trying to get remove the files from their local system because ?

The data is sync up and sync down. much depends on what it is you can or should do.

i.e. you are migrating to a document management system, so you want to have only one copy of a document within the system and no longer have different copies on individual user computers, etc.

The setup is using fslogix, roaming/redirected folders, working folders, etc.
the question deals with a single user might it expand to many other users?.

Are your uses set up with One Drive? Also, what version of SharePoint are you using?

They are using the most recent version of OneDrive.  Removing the local files is important when they get terminated.
