Windows Server 2019 Backups

Have a Windows Server 2019 back up that is getting the following errors when backing up.

Backup of volume C: has failed. The mounted backup volume is inaccessible. Please retry the operation.

I have tried the wbadmin /delete, scanned all disks and volumes. Initially after the wbadmin it will run maybe once or twice then this error comes back. Please advise.

I have tried a different disk to backup to abs same thing occurs. Should I totally wipe and redo the backup drives?
Have you checked your event logs to see if was any additional information regarding the error?

Randy Downs suggestion of trying a different backup destination (external USB drive etc) was a good one.

The idea isn't necessarily to change how or where you store your backups, but to see if the error still occurs.
Plus you'll have a backup while you figure out what's going on
