ERP system for ecomm platform

I'm all about finding an ecomm site for my new job :)

1. Besides WooCommerce and Magento - what other ecomm platform anyone has used? Company doesn't want to develop from scratch.

2. What ERP system goes with what ecomm platform? The guys at work have looked at netsuite and salesforce.

Anyone has used an ERP system that integrates well with an ecomm platform?

Thanks, let me take a look.
NovaCura is not an ERP system. It connects to an ERP system. We want an ERP system.
Correct, NovaCura works alongside of and integrates "ERP, WMS, MES, and CRM" systems."  It can be leveraged to enhance an existing ERP system such as IFS. NovaCura also offers consultation over ERP systems and solutions, so if you're looking for an ERP solution or getting started with one I would consider reaching out to them and facilitating a meeting. They may be able to advise on the best ERP solution and eCommerce combination.

IFS (ERP) can also integrate with platforms such as Shopify e-commerce through integrations "connectors":
https://www.alumio.com/connect/shopify-to-ifs

SPS Commerce streamlines a business's e-commerce implemented and enhances operations where Magneto or WooCommerce may be used over fulfillment. orders etc. in a centralized area, or where gaps exist.

SalesForce is probably the most all-around one - well-known in terms of eCommerce platform facilitation but is not ERP - similar ERP systems and integrations that apply to Magneto and WooCommerce such as Sage

One I did not mention was Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce solutions, you may have to research what's possible ERP-wise with it:
https://dynamics.microsoft.com/
https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/commerce/overview/

"Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, Sage" are ERP which can be used with Magneto, but there are ERP connectors for Magneto akin to IFS (ERP) and Shopify.
Thanks. We don't want something that enhances our ERP system. We want to replace it. So, can't use NovaCura. I'll look at others.
I should have clarified I was pointing out that a lot of ERP and eCommerce solutions on their own down the road often are not enough by themselves on their can be insufficient and are flawed in terms of organization etc., thus such integrations and enhanced solutions/services exist to help centralize operations or gaps over time. NovaCura helped bolster my past workplace's ERP system, but NovaCura also offers services to help businesses find solid ERP solutions. SPS Commerce has helped others refine operations via their EDI fulfillment and add-ins https://www.spscommerce.com/products/fulfillment/edi/ take that into consideration is all.

IFS is an (ERP) can also integrate with platforms such as Shopify e-commerce through integrations "connectors":
https://www.alumio.com/connect/shopify-to-ifs Magneto has some off-the-shelf connectors for ERP also.

Per Magneto's own site:
"Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, Sage" are ERP which can be used with Magneto, but there are ERP connectors for Magneto akin to IFS (ERP) and Shopify.

Microsoft Dynamics and Microsofts offerings overall may be a route to consider (I would not be able to provide ERP or Commerce feedback) as I do not have a high familiarity with Dynamics 365, just IFS (ERP).

If you reach out to Magneto or WooCommerce they would be able to verify further or recommend ERP solutions, additionally the same goes for SalesForce, they should be able to provide consultation over compatible combinations.

Thanks. We don't need EDI either. I have to research more. Thanks for your response. I'm still not clear. I will research more. Thanks again.
Out of the ones you discussed, I do have former colleagues who work for Salesforce too. I would look into if you can leverage either NetSuite by Oracle (as a comprehensive packaged eCommerce + ERP solution) and whether Dynamics by Microsoft (as a comprehensive packaged eCommerce + ERP Solution). I would recommend going with Salesforce and pair it with an ERP system example below. IFS, as I stated, may be too complex navigation and UI wise although it can integrate with e.g. Shopify. NovaCura and SPS Commerce do provide awesome logistics and enhanced fulfillment solutions though, connectors and add-ins.

Here is a breakdown of options or examples of what's out there, of course others exist and cost is a factor so yes you need to research and have your team  schedule demo's of the eCommerce side and ERP system:

ERP Options for SalesForce ecommerce:ERP Options for Magneto
  1. Microsoft Dynamics - BE Aware that Microsoft Dynamics has a Commerce platform so you may not need Magneto if you choose Dynamics it may be a central solution or ERP + eCommerce already if you go solely with Dynamics 365 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/ you would need to verify with Microsoft if that is true or whether you need to pair Magneto with 365 ERP and not their Commerce platform unless a plan exists that bundles it all on Microsoft's side through Dynamics
  2. NetSuite
  3. SAP
  4. Oracle - be aware Oracle acquired NetSuite if I recall that is why you see ORACLE NetSuite on their site:
  5.  Infor
  6. Epicor
  7. Sage

ERP Options for WooCommerce:https://www.clarity-ventures.com/ecommerce-integrations/woocommerce-integrations
https://woocommerce.com/products/odoo-for-woocommerce/

IFS is an ERP system it works with Shopify eCommerce, but you need a "smart" connector such as Alumio
Shopify eCommerce vs Salesforce eCommerce:

NetSuite eCommerce vs SalesForce eCommerce the companies also have CRM solutions

At my last job, we had a client who had Syspro

>>The idea is not having too many parallels systems as you will need API or some way to import & export data which will duplicate and most of the time cause problem.

What do you mean by that? at my new job, I think one of the guys said if they want to make a change, the change has to happen in 3 places. (Their ERP and Ecomm are custom built)
What I mean is let say you have an
inventory system called apps1
an  erp system called apps2
an  invoicing system called apps3

It is possible to manage 3 different apps / systems but if you can regroup all under the same system and only use 1 like an  ERP that would be better as you won't need to sync data between the apps with an API or other sync method.

Custom system is most of the time one of the best solution as it will fit your needs but most of the ERP will probably fit your needs to.

So you need to make a list of requirements and then test the one that fit.
ah, that makes sense. Do you know of an ecomm platform that goes with an ERP system? integrates well? I've been researching them and will look at your links as well.
Hi,

What is your business industry  / what product or service does the company sell?
Some system may have a bridge to connect and get data from an ecom... I would not use Woocommerce for this.
You need a strong system that have a great DB design.
It's selling plants, live plants, potted plants, gardening tools, fruit trees.
I already told them no WooCommerce.

Thanks. We've done all this (I've only been at this job for 2 weeks). There's an existing Ecomm platform now in Java that was developed 10 yrs ago and they want to replace it. The ERP and Ecomm sites are both custom and they don't want custom development anymore.

We know most of answers to your list. We have BrainTree, for example, as payment processor.

Now, everyone mentions Magento. Open source is an option too. How would an ecomm site work with an ERP (I didn't know about the ERP replacement until yesterday). What if we don't go with Magento. What other ecomm will go with an ERP software. I have questions like that. Competition is using Shopify. One is using Magento.

Let me look at your links in this thread.

lenamtl is right it depends upon the industry e.g. IFS ERP was more appropriate often for manufacturing logistics and a few other industries, here are some ERP systems at the bottom focused specifically on plants, garden center, floriculture, cultivation, and plant nurseries, etc.

Open source is an option too.

Odoo is open source by the way and they have their own eCommerce app/platform in addition to the ERP system capabilities, but you could use another compatible eCommerce connector.

Here are examples, some outright say what integrations or eCommerce works while others it may be best to contact the ERP system's support to inquire about supported integrations or eCommerce platforms, it would be ideal to do that and schedule demos, these are probably lesser-known ones as they are industry specific.

Thank you both. let me read. Not sure about Odoo. We don't want piece together a site.

Didn't know Magento has ERP now. We're .Net developers. If we go with Magento, we have to learn PHP?

Thanks. .net erp might be good.
Sounds good!  There is a good comparison table here also :
https://www.odoo.com/page/compare-odoo-vs-shopify
https://www.odoo.com/pricing

I believe regarding Magneto ERP  if you look at the text on their main site it lists of possible ERP options/examples further on the page that was shared, they mention Dynamics, but as mentioned earlier Dynamics 365 may actually have their own eCommerce/Commerce platform in addition to ERP so that is something maybe to look into rather than sticking with Magneto. I wouldn't be able to verify that nor the costs. Unsure if you looked into Microsoft Dynamics....

Looks like you do need PHP knowledge for modifications on Magneto, so that would be a challenge
PHP - https://magento.com/solutions/integrate-your-erp-software-magento-commerce

Yeah, same with Odoo and Dynamics might be a comprehensive solution as I think Oracle may offer both eCommerce and ERP solutions as stated earlier, but you may not be locked it to using an ERP system they have nor eCommerce offering as there are connectors "off the shelf" and

Oracle - be aware Oracle acquired NetSuite if I recall that is why you see ORACLE NetSuite on their site:I have not heard of .Net ERP but looks cool
Thanks. I will review it all.
You mentioned fruit trees in your other post and this reminded me of seeing Acumatica ERP and some customer stories, the price point may not be as attractive as others per research, but unsure if you looked at it. They seem to provide basic support and have Acumatica University.  Premium support/help tacks on additional fees it seems.
