Need a quick way to isolate original files on my Mac desktop.

Need a quick way to isolate original files on my Mac desktop.

I had a bad habit of copying files to my desktop to make them easier to find. And anytime I did so, it was a copy, not a move. So, I need to clean up my desktop and hope to find an easy way to identify which files on the desktop are UNIQUE.

Suggestions?

If I was able to quickly search each file and all that match that filename, the unique ones wold be the ones with no match. But, I was wondering how a Mac expert would solve this problem.

I usually stay away from Terminal, but I suppose I could safely execute a Search command on Terminal, then actually do the Delete from Finder.

Thanks.
