manually add subtitles to a powerpoint audio

I have embedded individual .mp3 files into my PowerPoint 365 presentation for voice over narration, and my question is how to manually add captions to them?

I read that this can be done if you embed video, but what about just audio?

I added the captions with the STAMP, as suggested, but they do not appear when I'm trying to record?

The captions appear in slide show mode, not while recording.

Hi John, but how can I pre record
John Korchok

Your original question has been answered. It sounds like you have a new question, please start a new thread with more detail about what is preventing you from pre-recording audio. Or captions, it's not clear.
