Need Com port assignment widget besides Devicemanager

I am looking for a windows utility that will provide a fast way to change the assignment of various virtual and physical serial ports. device manager is cumbersome requiring far too many click to drill down through for a simple port number change.

I deal in industrial controls and I have a bunch of serial software and dongles and they always seem to conflict when I haven't used on in a while. Yes its a simple act under Device manager but, like I say, I'm looking for a 2 click kind of solution.

Windows OSSoftware* serial port* Industrial Control System, ICS

Have not had a need, but look at using powershell.
Often, the tasks you perform withi device manager, there are powershell commands to do the same..

Arnold: The issue with powershell would be that the target is not consistent so I can't script anything for a one touch operation.

Dr. Klahn - Your experience sounds about right.  I ran across this app over the weekend as well. I expected NirSoft to have one but he didn't. I was reluctant to try this one without hearing from some one else that had used it. I will try it today. You have our gratitude. :)

You can script data pull, prompt user with choices, options...
Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

With my skill level, scripting that kind of variability in PS would be difficult. If the other app doesn't work out, I will try that next. PS is terrific in what it can do, I just don't do anything with it often enough to be fluent.

Fluent? One learns as the need arises.
