Camera of Lenovo Laptop E 550 in windows 10 environment

Hi,

This is Windows 10, O365 and Microsoft Team Environment.

There are 2 or 3 incidents with built-in Camera of Lenovo Laptop E 550.

During the M-Team meeting, The Video starts for 2 seconds then freezes.

When I checked the Device Manager, I did not see the item of Camera (note: It means the physical camera of this laptop is bad? Or what?)

I downloaded the driver of Lenovo E 550 from Lenovo support site; Here it is:
Integrated Camera Driver for Windows 10 (Version 1703 or earlier) - ThinkPad Edge E450, E550, E455, E555, L450

After installing this driver, then I click “Find hardware changes”, I cannot see anything.
Is the physical device of this camera bad?
Any help to troubleshoot this issue or option please.

Thanks,

Tjie

Which driver was installed? Check in device manager, properties driver name, manufacturer and version.

I don't like "Windows 10 (Version 1703 or earlier)" - but haven't found anything better.
Maybe the camera works best with the Microsoft generic driver.

If the device is faulting so seriously that it no longer appears in Device Manager, there should be entries in the event log indicating the problem.

test the cam :   with testmycam    Webcam Test (webcamtests.com)
if it is bad - youmay need to open the laptop, and check the connection - and cable -

For the built-in web camera, only generic driver is needed and your problem is very likely caused by bad hardware.
