Building a Graphical command executor using Qt

I am building an application using the Qt framework and C++.

The idea is simple. It's a graphical command executor. So if the user types ls in the GUI TextBox, the bottom Box shows the command's output.

On a first look, I can split the project  into two parts

1. Make the GUI using QT in C++

2. Write the plain C++ code to execute the command entered by the user using the library function and display the output.

I am stuck on 1. I couldn't find any basic QT sample project written in C++ which could help build the GUI. The rest of the code, I think, should be plain C++ code.

Any links or hints on how can I begin?
