ok but can you find a video or a tutorial showing how to swap it.....
rindi

Why would you need a video or Tutorial for that? First just look at the bottom of the laptop. Most Acers of that age have several covers at the bottom which you can remove by unscrewing some screws. Usually there is eve a symbol engraved that shows you what is underneath that cover. Once that cover is removed, you should see the HD & be able to remove it, then replace it with the new Disk (SSD). If there are no sepearate covers, then you need to remove the complete bottom cover. That should also be pretty simple & straightforward. Otherwise make some good fotos of your laptop's underside & we may be able to give more details.

As McKnife pointed out, the cost of SSD's declined (issue 2004 model, might have anIDE drive) potentially if they use specialized drive caddy, you may have to get one for a SATA, but the cost of that old sodimm ram could be costly such that buying a used three year old system with everything already present a better optio while spending abouttgesame amount.
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

You should be able to get the RAM 2nd hand for little cash. DDR2 4GB Modules are common enough. The notebook uses SATA, so you don't need an extra caddy.
