At church today the pastor, without warning before the service, had an anointment cup. And the intent was to ask (seeking volunteers) maybe a couple of people to go up. They began with a single woman and she asked the wife of one of the men to come up and put her hand on the woman's heart while the pastor anointed her. Then "anyone else" and a white couple went up because his wife got good news last week about her cancer screening. Then a Hispanic couple got up to seek anointment. Then another couple of Hispanic origin. Then they gave an "anyone else" and one leader said how about you Judith and.... They not being familiar with American culture went up "after being asked" since everyone else had. Yes the congregation is 6 couple and 5 singles.

The only ones present today were the ones mentioned above and not the full 17 adults.

I was not accompanied by my wife and it looked like they were being aggressive in asking people to come up. The only white couple in the church got up and left because they had been anointed and his wife has medical issues at times. I got up and walked out with them. It looked like they would  have called me up there and it would have been embarrassing to decline in front of all the others.

This leadership has a habit of spontaneous events and having no one knowledgeable about what is to happen. your comments on me walking out to not have to be prompted or asked?
