Are you connected to a VPN?

Can you get to a web site if you search for it on Google?

What operating system are you using?
Try running mtr (Windows port if you're running Windows).

This runs a realtime traceroute, showing you the exact hop where 100% packet drop is occurring.

Showing the exact hop/IP with the problem... many times... answers why this is occurring + next steps to fix the problem... if the problem is under your control to fix...

Try running mtr (Windows port if you're running Windows).MTR is not recognized as an internal or external command

I would try changing your DNS settings to use Cloudflare, if only for troubleshooting purposes.  Instructions are about halfway down this page:
https://1.1.1.1/dns/

If that doesn't change your symptoms, let us know.

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.  Open the file called "hosts" and see if it has any entries in it that don't start with an octothorpe (#).

Are you at home? Perhaps it is your network equipment, restart it?
See if there are connectivity reports/issues with your provider.
Test a direct ethernet connection or relocating where you are at home, another room.
Are you on Wi-Fi or direct ethernet?
Try the built-in W10 network troubleshooter too.

i am aware of Wi Fi Att..
what two of those?

Does it happen if you undock, disconnect from a direct ethernet, and solely on Wi-Fi?
What happens when you disconnect from VPN, then restart?
It could be something wonky that happened with your network adapter or settings.
I would look at this:

To use mtr you must install a Windows port.

The search - windows version of mtr - provides a good starting point.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/ - provides one such port.

are you referring to WINMTRCmd?

The mtr output suggest very little packet loss.

Provide the actual host/domain you were targeting for your test.
Random Aside: Yesterday there did seem to be some sort of Internet Backbone issue, as several sites seemed offline that have been online consistently for years. Nothing reported on any Internet Weather (Backbone Health Reports) sites + problem cleared quickly.

If you retest access to the site(s) offline yesterday, they may... have mysteriously returned by now...

https://google.com you mentioned is working for you, so provide a host/domain failing for you.

looks like i can not explain it well, NOTHING is working for me, NOTHING is loaded, not google, not yahoo, not youtube...
just does not load
If Google is failing, then certainly this is something on your end.

Obviously you can reach EE, as you're interacting with this question.

So pick 1x failing host/domain you can't reach, then test that host/domain with mtr.

If mtr show's all is well + only your HTTPS access to a site is blocked, as en ERR_TIMED_OUT, this might be some sort of hack or more likely some sort of brain-deal Malware scanner (super common with Windows) blocking ports for some reason.

If mtr shows good + site HTTPS is blocked, completely disable all firewalls + scanners between your incoming ISP modem + your machine.

Likely all will be well when you do this, so then start enabling each layer of security to determine which layer of software has gone rogue, then you'll know where to start fixing the problem.
You said, "NOTHING is working for me, NOTHING is loaded", which must be incorrect as your interacting with this question on EE...

Unless... you're using another computer for your EE interaction.

Likely good to describe how you're accessing EE, if all other sites are offline.
I would recommend contacting your ISP to verify there are no issues in your area.

how come is my laptop has no issues? uses the same internet connection...

Missed that you had 2 stations one working and another is not. So you have a personal workstation/laptop but your work (organization provided) one does not work and has issues suddenly? You shouldn't have 4 ethernets I suspect somehow your network adapter hiccupped, someone I had helped a while back from home had multiple and had to individually test/remove and disable the incorrect ones.

Try resetting your connections via command line.

Here are examples where we had discussed this on EE or these posts showcase the commands:

not only that, my MS outlook is fine and is working, has three input boxes, like my working email, gmail, hotmail.
it means i have a connection!
Sometimes resetting your connections via command line can help, however, sometimes as David stated it could be something security-wise blocking too or causing interference. Did you try launching Chrome in incognito mode and disabling extensions as well. Unsure what you use for AV, security, and firewall.

what is TAP windows adapter v9?

I believe that's tied to VPN at times needed, does it let you enable that or everything is greyed out.

i do not use vpn on my home desktop, i anly use vpn on my work laptop.
It looks like you have Wi-Fi 1 and 2 now...strange.
Did you try the command lines to reset your network connection?
Avatar of Roman F

ASKER

yes, i did

What do you see in your Event Logs? If nothing helpful is there, then I wonder if ProcMon would showcase what's running or happening on the backend.
any errors?
And to be correct, this is happening whilst connected over VPN?
Do you have admin permissions over this laptop?
Run a full antivirus scan, what do you use with AV or for security?
If you can perform a full advanced antivirus scan, also try Malwarebytes as a precaution.
It could be something with your network driver or adapters, possibly check Device Manager and check for errors there or warnings. I have reinstalled network drivers.
You need to remove the duplicated Wi-Fi entries - get rid of Wi-Fi 2, I think its spawning from your registry possibly.
Also, try a reboot in between.
What happens when you disable Wi-Fi and switch to Ethernet only?
Something else
Try from an elevated cmd prompt:  sfc /scannow
