This USB 3.1 adapter got super hot, and seems to have failed
I bought this last November and used it every day. It got very hot, and now fails to connect my MacBook with my external monitor.
When I replaced it was a smaller j5create, all is fine. (Lucky it wasn't my MacBook!)
So, I think I need to replace the faulty one, Right? Any Reset option?
So, when I look for a replacement, I hope to find one that does not get so hot.
Suggestions?
Thanks

When the device is not plugged in, it feels cool to the touch.
Then, with it plugged into by Mac and an older USB hub plugged into the J5, it stays about the same, "warm."
When I plug in the monitor, but keep the monitor off, it stays warm.
When I turn the monitor on, it gets hot. Heat, for one year, is likely the reason the larger J5 failed.
Then, when I pluggd in the USB hub (w/ USB Trackball and USB keyboard) it seemed to get even hotter.
Suggestions?
I did order a Bluetooth KB and Trackball, and expect to NOT need the USB hub plugged into the J5 ever again.
