asked on

How Do I Open an App "onto" the Larger Monitor?

When I try to open a certain application, it opens by default on my laptop's small monitor, instead of onto my larger external monitor.

And, I cannot "drag" the app to my larger monitor.  The "minimize" and other selections at the top of the app are not accessible on my smaller monitor.

How do I get this app to "go to" my large monitor by default?

Do you have the minimize options etc available if you remove the external display?

If you leave the situation the same, it should open on the large monitor by default.
If you use the app in single monitor mode again, it will probably "forget" the large monitor setting.
There are probably apps for that.
That you don't have the minimize available could be either the app's fault, or your Window and screen configuration is incorrect.
The fastest way to move the app to the bigger screen is, when the app is active, WinKey+cursor (obviously left, if the large monitor is left, right if the monitor is right). When it arrives to the correct monitor, finish with WinKey+cursor UP
Though, by default, if everything is in working order (both monitor setup in their native resolution,extended desktop, newest graphics drivers), you should already have the "remember which screen" function, as well as the minimize/close icons in the upper right corner of your app.

@rindi: No.
@Kimputer: WinKey + arrow key does not do anything.

Any other ideas?
