Power BI copy over data into pbix file

Hi

I have been sent a Power BI pbix file where I have no connection to the database where the datasets come from. Is there a way for the sender or me to rather make a copy of the data files or part of them so that I don't need access to the data source. Also can I look at the dashboard without the data?

When you publish a report it will automatically create 2 files "the report" and "the dataset". When exporting in pbix you'll need both files and you'll need to reset the datasource in the report to the offline dataset file.
