How can I edit a PNG file given my integrated tools within Windows 10?

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am interested in learning how to edit a PNG file which brings me to the crux of this question.  How can I edit a PNG file given my integrated tools within Windows 10?

To be precise with what I am wanting to do, I have attached two PNG files, namely, Jack's Bistro and Jack's Bistro from Three's Company.   Basically, I want to change the Jack's Bistro logo to match the logo given within the Jack's Bistro from Three's Company file.  I believe the steps for accomplishing this goal should be simple, but, I have very limited digital picture editing skills.

Any step-by-step guidance given in reply to this question will be greatly appreciated.

              Thank you.

               George

Hi George,

What do you see as the difference between the two? Just the colors? Or something else? Here they are, side-by-side:

Out of curiosity how do you plan on using this image moving forward??

If you plan on using it for commercial purposes, (etc) there's a good chance that there may be copyright issues

With respect to the two follow-up questions, I will start off with the clarification of my goal.  Basically, I want the Jack's Bistro logo on the right-hand side to have a white background, black text, a black outlining of the circle, and a single black arch line above and below the text just like the original one taken from Three's Company.   The reason I want to handle it this way is that the one taken from an episode of Three's Company is not as clear as the Jack's Bistro logo on the right.   Once completed, both logos will match up with respect to both, color and design, with the end result being much clearer.

As far as possible copyright concerns, I knew this would be brought up so I need to elaborate upon the use of this logo.  Like many people, I am a huge Three's Company fan who likes being creative from time to time with common ordinary things around the house for personal and noncommercial use.  For example, I am getting ready to purchase some plain and ordinary paper lunch boxes from eBay and place the self-created Jack's Logo on them.  Just to re-emphasize, these paper lunch boxes with the Jack's Bistro logo will not be sold or commercialized in any way.  Instead, they will be used for carrying my lunches in when I am at work and nothing else.

Hopefully, I have explained my objective in a way that makes sense and does not arouse any ethical suspicions.  If further clarification is needed, I will respond back right away.

In the meantime, I look forward to reviewing any feedback germane to this fun project which I am looking forward to embarking on.

          Thank you :-)

As @Joe mentioned, you can do this in Paint (likely installed by default) + GIMP (which requires a manual installation) will likely be far more useful to you in the long run.

Hi Paul,
Great post! One other thing...George wants the small, second arches (top and bottom) to be removed. I marked your post as Helpful for now. Will be a Solution when you remove those two arches. :) Regards, Joe
