 asked on

comparison of CDN providers (refer to our requirements)

Firstly, is Cloudflare also known as AWS

CloudFront now?

I'll need a comparison of a few CDN providers in

Singapore.  Off-hand, our requirements are:

a) the provider offers a good WAF & IPS service

& they auto-block the threats for the products

    that we use

b) DDoS/traffic scrubbing (though this is less

     crucial than item a above)

c) can scan https traffic (guess what I've seen

with Fortigate & CheckPoint network IPS

blocking malwares is they decrypt the https

    at the firewall/IPS ?)  for malwares, C&C

    & malicious payloads

d) ideally this CDN provider do analysis of

their IPS & WAF logs & perform blockings

    (ie sort of SOC service)

e) able to throttle by specific destination or

source IP address the bandwidth as

sometimes the high bandwidth may not

be a volumetric DDoS but legit traffic:

this feature is crucial to have

Network Security* Content Delivery Network (CDN)Security

Do Fastly or Cloudflare or any CDN providers offer any
form of Managed Security or SOC that actively comb
their logs (WAF or firewall or network IPS) for visiting
IPs that are in blacklists or with payloads that trigger
IPS rules/signatures?

Above  link indicates F5 Silverline offers some sort
of Managed Security for Cloudflare/CloudFront ??
Above link was confusing too in that it mentioned
Cloudflare but in the comparison table, it indicates
AWS Cloudfront, so which is which ?

CDNs are not just for static hosting, but they are also not managed firewall providers.
