is there a way to 'silently' remove someone from all meetings they have in their calendar?

Hi, we had a colleague recently pass away and I've had a request to remove him from all the meetings he has accepted and are still in his Outlook calendar.

Is there a way to remove someone from all of the meetings they have previously accepted in Outlook?  Ideally without sending any updates to meeting organisers and certainly none to the other attendees, but still have the change reflected in the meeting attendee list?

Set outlook to offline mode.
Remove the user, Save and "send the update".
Delete from the outbox.

Put outlook back online.
