What is the best practice for naming controls on MS Access forms and reports?

Based on my experience, I give specific (non-default) names to controls under these two conditions:

  • There is event code for the control
  • The control is referenced in code

I give this advice to power users and developers.  I'd like to know if this advice has been documented or would like to know what guidelines other seasoned professionals use.

I use basically the same convention that Jim uses.  But I name everything, including labels.

Thanks.  I'll close this question on Sunday.  If there are other Access experts that find this question, they may also opine.
