Exchange server 2019 Standard VS Enterprise

Hi,

I am planning to buy an exchange server 2019. I have a 350 email account. What version do I have to go with? Standard or Enterprise?

I read that Standard  can host up to 5 mailbox databases while Enterprise can host up to 50 mailbox databases ( I am not sure 50 or 100 databases )

Thanks

standard is more than sufficient.  you can put in 1 database or split into a couple if you want to organize a certain way (by dept. or something) though putting all in 1 is not an issue

you will also need standard CALs though if you plan to use archive mailboxes, will need enterprise CALs for any of the users that will have an archive

I read that Standard  can host up to 5 mailbox databases while Enterprise can host up to 50 mailbox databases ( I am not sure 50 or 100 databases )

it's 100

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.

"you will also need standard CALs though if you plan to use archive mailboxes, will need enterprise CALs for any of the users that will have an archive "

Can you explain this, please? Do I need to buy the exchange server 2019 standard and buy CAL individually?

Hi,
Thank you for the explanation.
Do I need to buy the exchange server 2019 standard and buy CAL individually?  Or just buy exchange server 2019 standard. I am not planning to use the archive.
I started with Experts Exchange in 2004 and it's been a mainstay of my professional computing life since. It helped me launch a career as a programmer / Oracle data analyst

Then start with standard. If you can manage with 5 databases with 1TB each.
You can upgrade to Enterprise if required in the future.

FYI
CALs are only in document.

Thanks,
Can you suggest the best website to buy an exchange server 2019 standard multi-languages for server and client?

Do I need to buy the exchange server 2019 standard and buy CAL individually?

yes you need both
buy the number of CALs for the number of user mailboxes (no CAL needed for resource/equipment mailbox like a conference room)

I am not planning to use the archive.

then if you have 350 user mailboxes, you need 350 standard CALs

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Please the users need to use email only. Do they need CAL? Or CAL just for administration?

I read this
"Does Exchange need CALs?
A Microsoft Exchange Server device or user client access license (CAL) is required for each device (computer, phone, tablet, etc) or user accessing or using Microsoft Exchange Server. ... You do not need CALs for: Up to two devices or users to access Microsoft Exchange for the purpose of administering Exchange Server"

-->Please the users need to use email only. Do they need CAL?
Yes users holding a mailbox and accessing Exchange server requires Exchange CALs.
FYI CALs are only in document.
