Power BI simplifying a measure

In Power BI I have been given the following measure. Is there not an easier way to do this?
TOTAL SALES 2020 = var currentyear = SELECTEDVALUE('CALENDAR'[Year],year(today())) return CALCULATE([TOTAL SALES],'CALENDAR'[Year]=currentyear-1)
it is used in the following dashboard
