Synology Drive sharesync will not connect over the internet through Watchgaurd firewalls

I'm trying to use synology drive sharesync to sync a folder from one synology device to another across a wan (internet). Based on instructions it's supposed to be port 6690 that needs to be port forwarded through the firewall. We use Watchgaurd firewalls. SO I have 6690 forwarding at both locations, I have Drive sharesync setup at both locations. I setup shared teams folder at both locations, QuickconnectID shows both devices are connected. I can never get past the initial screen to connect. Anyone work with this before maybe has some insights or tips?

Are the logs on the firewall showing that any of the traffic is being blocked? For that matter is it showing that the traffic is hitting the port forwarding?

The way I normally test things like this is temporarily take off all restrictions.

i'm getting a mixture of info but this is in production so turning things off is not an option. i need to wait until i have windows on fri afternoon for additional testing. i initially saw 6690 was being blocked, which synology tech has said is the only thing needed, so i have created those forwards but with no success
