Part number for purchasing replacement LCD screen for MacBook Pro laptop

I have a 2017 15" MacBook Pro 512GB 2.9 GHz i7 with a defective screen.

When I took this laptop to a Mac store they quoted me $575 for a replacement LCD screen and $100 for labor which comes to a total of $675 plus tax for replacing this defective LCD screen.

I have a friend who will replace this LCD screen for $50.

What's the part number for purchasing a replacement LCD screen for this MacBook Pro laptop so I can see if I can buy the replacement LCD screen for less?

andyalder,

Yes, but the problem with the ifixit URL is that they are quoting $699.99 for the display assembly which is more than what the Apple store quoted me.

Do you or anyone else know of any other sources where I can get this Mac laptop LCD display repaired for less?

andyalder,

And you're sure that the LCD screen in this URL is the right one for my Mac laptop? I'd really like to keep this Mac laptop as long as it's not too expensive to replace this LCD screen.

No, I'm not sure but you can contact them on their website and ask. There's Silver or Grey although I don't suppose it matters if you have a two tone laptop. From the pictures it seems to be the whole assembly, other people sell just the LCD without touchscreen and backlight.

Thanks, I will contact them to find out if it is compatible with my laptop.

In the meantime, if anyone else knows of any other places where I can purchase an affordable LCD replacement for this Mac laptop please update this posting.

All that I need is just the LCD display itself since the current display assembly within the laptop can still be used.
