One Drive Documents not syncing but Desktop sync is...
Through Group Policy, we have just configured One Drive (Files on demand) for some test users.
Desktop, Pictures & Documents look like they sync silently on logon with no issues but the Documents & Pictures folder seem not to be. One Drive Documents is populated with many folders inc, Windows, sysprep, $RECYCLE.BIN, etc.??!!
The C:\Users\%username%\Documents on the local machine does not have these folders.
The Desktop redirection works perfectly.
What is the best way to troubleshoot the Documents & Pictures not syncing?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Mat
Sounds like the Document syncing is syncing c:\ ?
Have a look on one of the machines - if you right click the Documents folder in Quick Access, Properties, and look at location does it show c:\ perhaps? What about one of your existing machines this policy has not been applied to?

Thank you both for the quick answers. Maybe, it was me reading it wrong.
If I go to One Drive\Pictures in Windows Explorer then I see all the files. Also, if I right click the One Drive icon in the taskbar.
If I go to C:\Users\%username%\Pictures I do not see all the files (also in CMD window).
Are they only in the cloud and not stored locally?
Quick access shortcuts were pointing to C:\Users\%username%\Pictures - I have changed the location to the One Drive folder.
Is there a way through group policy to ensure all Quick Access shortcuts are updated with the One Drive location?
We have 2000 users and this could get very confusing for them.
Also, a gpo setting to hide folders like $RECYCLE.BIN etc?
Thanks again for your help.

Yes you are reading it wrong. Once you setup OneDrive the files are moved to C:\Users\UserName\Onedrive\Documents and the same for \Pictures. If you click on the OD icon and look in "backup" tab you can see where the files are located

Thank you all.. I miss understood how 'Files on demand' worked.
How do I split the solution between your answers?
Many thanks again.

Try marking one as the solution and anything that else as helpful.
The files that are synching are likely the ones you really need but you can always create folders within OneDrive if you need something that is not being synched. Note that uploads will be much slower than downloads. A large number of files or really large ones will take considerable time to upload.
