Can I turn off Bitlocker on a Win 8 computer without admin access?

I have a Windows 8 laptop with local account logon but no admin rights so no access to change settings.

There is a Microsoft Account with admin privileges but the password has been mislaid and resetting via Microsoft allows login to Outlook.com but it doesn't appear to sync to the laptop which is online.

It also has Bitlocker enabled for which I have the pin and recovery key but am unable to turn it off through Windows as I have no admin access.

If I can get admin access I can use a Linux password reset boot disk to give me admin privileges but as far as I can see it won't work with the disk encrypted.

Can anyone advise?
