Computer mouse with issues

Our optical computer mouse was working fine. Later in the day after the computer had been on for several hours and various programs eating up ram, etc. the mouse began to act up and not work properly. We have ordered a new one but here a couple hours later with only a couple browsers open the mouse works fine. How does the system and all programs, etc. affect mouse functionality? Thanks.

How is this mouse powered?

Battery or USB or PS/2 connection.  Could be failing battery or loose connection.  The latter a little unlikely.

Can you describe how the mouse is acting up & not working properly? What were the symptoms?
in my case - jumping to one of the corners also - and right now it jumped up 1 page

USB connection Windows 10 desktop. The cursor would not move left to right up and down and I do have two monitors going. There were times where I could not see the "arrow" to tell me where I was on the screen. I would be within a few inches of what I needed to click on and used movement of the mouse to the left for example and it barely moved. The arrow that is. After some attempts finally got the cursor to the desired destination. When it's working fine I can move it around all over the screen by only moving my hand in various directions.

Now with the mouse stationary I see a large capital T with a top on the bottom too. I'm having a little trouble moving this "T" around. It doesn't always move when the mouse moves. Dragging the T can intermittently work poorly. It's acting up now and the system has been on for 2 hours. New mouse arrives Dec 3.

What is Disc LED?

I can hardly do anything with it now. Maybe the surface for the optical is not proper.
Most PC's have a LED's on it's case, one to show it is on, another that shows disk Activity. During normal operation it is either dark, or blinks a little. If the disk is used excessively, it goes from blinking to constantly on for longer periods.

It blinks for a few seconds and then on for a few seconds, etc.
As I mentioned earlier, run the diagnostics & chkdsk etc, & if you don't have much RAM, increase that. I've only seen any issue with a mouse pointer not reacting was either because the surface on which the mouse had a structure which wasn't properly recognized by it (use a mouse pad to rectify that, or another surface), or, if it wasn't an optical mouse, but that would have to be a mouse from the last millennium, when the ball was stuck. But It has never been a defective mouse.

Much more common for Mouse problems is their buttons. Those wear & you often get double, triple or more clicks even if you only click once.

But the problem you describe is almost always a PC problem, as I mentioned, the HD or not enough RAM, but not the mouse.
what is the model of this pc?  or motherboard?  post also some specs on cpu and ram + disk model and free space
you can also check how much free ram you have : open task management - select performance tab- ram
yes the type of surface that you have the optical mouse on does matter, if possible use a mouse pad when using the mouse and check to see if that makes a diffirence or scan on another type of surface.

Replacing the mouse solved the problem. We did not have a spare so I had to deal with the old one until the new one arrived by mail. Thanks.
