asked on Recommended way to connect Gmail to Outlook 365?
I'm having problems with Outlook 365 connecting with G Suite. So when I connect the outlook client via IMAP, the user has such a big mailbox that it seems takes a long time to sync each time. What is the recommended method for connecting gmail to Outlook? Is there a better way to optimize IMAP so it runs well with a big mailbox?

I configured everything in admin center and then downloaded the app but get into this problem.

You are not alone. I have a large Gmail account that I use in outlook and it does lag with syncing. I just found that outlook works well for managing multiple email accounts and keep using it even though I have the a similar issue.

Thunderbird sounds good but he doesn't like it...unfortunately.
What if I archive all his email up to a couple years in his pst file. Will that work? Or would I archive the online Gmail first and then archive his Outlook after? It seems like he has more email in his pst file than actually in the gmail portal.
