I am planning to migrate Imap mail services to O365.
Current Mail client settings: Some of the mail clients (Outlook) are set up as a POP and after downloaded deleted from the Imap server.
Due to the above setting, most of the mails are locally saved as PST files.
In order for me to transfer the PST mail to O365
Would I be able to do the Imap to O365 migration and configure the Mail client for the new O365 mailbox and then import the PST file to the O365 mailbox through outlook?
before importing PST, you should use a tool like "Microsoft PSTCollection Tool" to detect and copy all existing PST:
https://www.howto-outlook.com/downloads/pstcollectiontool.htm
Note that even on Microsoft site, the usage of this tool is not well described.
Here are two sample commands:
DataCollectorMaster.exe -DataSource Pst -Mode Find -JobName Job1 -Locations "\\DELL-TD\C$" -LogLocation "\\SERVER\SHAREFOLDER\LOGP
DataCollectorMaster.exe -DataSource Pst -Mode Find -JobName Job2 -Locations "OU=ComputersOU,DC=DOMAIN,
Note that you can use a list of machines as location, and that the agent is automatically installed from the folder DataAgent.
