ACER Laptop fan very noisy. How do we find out the cause?

User has an ACER Laptop  Windows 11, up to date.  Nitro AN515-54

i5-9300H  2.4    8 GB physical memory.  Virtual Memory set to 15.7

NVidea GForce GTX 1050

The fan revs up almost as soon as any software starts, and is really loud.

Graphics programs seem to kick it off

How do we figure out what's causing this?

Could the fan be defective, and in need of replacement?

Could there be a bad driver?  If so, what software should we use to check for new drivers?

There is a GForce graphics driver upgrade available, but an error occurred.
