Helps on YouTube, Web Browser, Streaming apps for underaged restriction methods for SmartTVs

Hi Experts!

I was helped recently on an issue of YouTube underaged restriction regarding iPad/iPhones.  However, I just noticed that there is also YouTube apps & web browsers apps  in a SmartTVs.  That said, what tools are there to also set 'underaged restriction' in the YouTube apps and web browser?  (also, there are streaming apps in the these SmartTVs).

Please advice

Hi, I check ur link Pi-Hole but don't quite understand what it.  I see or get that it is a DNS Server (pix below) something like Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, i don't understand your entry, please elaborate bit more.

Have a look of the how-to guide about Pi-hole to know more about it.

However, there is a deep learning curve to implement it and will be difficult to troubleshoot if the legitimate network is redirected to a wrong IP address.

Therefore  for most home users, the parents will only make use of the parental features built-in in their smart TVs to filter inappropriate adult content and when the adult want to access the unfiltered content , they need to input a PIN code to unlock the parental control.

Most big brands smart TVs launched in recent years should have parental control features but they are seldom advertised for such feature as it is rather standard.

After all, I do not think the little ones do spend time on watching TVs, no matter it is smart TVs or not.

If I were you, I will just put an IP camera in front of the smart TVs which is working around the clock to record what has been displayed on the smart TVs. In doing so, the little ones are unlikely to watch inappropriate media on the smart TVs.

Yes, the Smart TV has some sort of parental control features and I think the individual apps in the Smart TV like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max, etc. also may carry some sort of control.

I read ur link.  Is Pi-hole a software u install in a Smart TV or install it in a computer which in turn is connected to the Wifi (Home network) then all Smart TV and mobile devices when connected to the Wifi, they pass thru this computer (which has Pi-hole)? (this is the part I'm having trouble to grasp)

Jackie Man, great explanation! Like u said, I will "play it for fun" it's really interesting.

To close the question, anything else u think I can use (beside what it's been said)?
What you can use is yourself.

Spend more time on little ones to teach them to stay away from risks from cyber activities and learn what are their needs and how to make information technology work to suit their needs.
