Woocommerce - account credit plugin
We're looking for a plugin to credit customer accounts.
I'm looking at this link

Looks like those don't support money-back. They only credit customer's account so they could use the credit as coupon.
Is there a plugin to give the money back?

This feature is provided by the paiement gateway plugin you are using.
You can do it the way you want coupon, money transfert....
What I do is I set all sales of physical product to be pre-approuved by the gateway, so if client change is mind I can cancel the sales and no money to refund as the payment is took only when the order is set to completed or this can be other state based on your need.
This is also a way to catch fraud, plus using recaptcha and strict gateway settings.

We have BrainTree. I have to pose these questions to my manager. I was only asked to research plugins.
I read the link you posted. From the comments above, I think there is confusion what you are referring to by the term credit.
Are you instead asking what is the best option to offer and manage store credits,coupons and other future discounts
Or did you in fact mean to ask about issuing a refund to the purchasers credit card. While that can be don in the gateway, that should be a last resort. Instead,it will be a function of woo commerce. It will be cleaner that way for you and the customer.

My manager emailed yesterday. They want both. Refund and store credit. Also partial refund. In the link I posted..there's a plugin for partial refund.

However you charge for a transaction, the only compliant manner of providing refunds is based on your merchant account, which is almost surely to refund the transaction.
So you'll never use any type of credit system.
You'll do charges + refunds only, which should be part of your payment gateway... where you login the Virtual Terminal + refund a charge.
Generally handling this manually is best, unless you have many transactions to refund, as auto-refund logic almost always breaks creating far more work for someone, over doing manual refunds.
