Manage multiple displays on MacBook Pro M1

I just got a MacBook Pro M1. I want to connect 4 displays. I have tried 3 different HDMI splitters and discovered the Mac Display Control Panel shows 3 displays: the laptop display, the BMD (Blackmagic ATEM Mini) and one other display. The 3rd display I mention represents 3 separate monitors. I can't get the Mac to 'see' them individually. They pretend to be one monitor in the control panel. I need the Mac to see each display as separate since ProPresenter (my presentation software) only sees displays as the Mac sees them.

What equipment or software do you suggest to manage multiple displays on Mac?

Get a displaylink capable dock that supports 4 displays.

Have you downloaded and installed Displaylink?  Is your current dock displaylink capable?

Thanks serialband,
I have a variety of USB connected devices which I have used together (StarTech 2 HDMI, J5Create 2 HDMI and DisplayLink UD3900). I got a plain HDMI splitter which gave the same net result as I mentioned above. As I look on the DisplayLink / Synaptics site, I only see two docks with 4 graphic ports (2 HDMI and 2 Display Port)...
A link from synaptics.com / DisplayLink to this: https://www.siig.com/usb-3-0-4k-dual-video-docking-station-usb-c.html
and to this: https://www.wavlink.com/en_us/product/WL-UG69PD2.html

There are several physical ports on the MacBook Pro, two mini USB-C. I have a adapters I can use to make a device with USB-A work with USB-C.

My question...since I have seen the same issue with both 'port replicators' scenarios  (USB connected port expanders & HDMI connected splitters). Do you suggest I try one of the above links or some other dock?

Thanks serialband, I'll give it a try!
Question is already resolved but it would maybe be good to mention the model of the MacBook you have. Different models may have different available ports to connect displays. Thanks!
