Troubleshoot/Fix group policy that runs Immediate Task that executes VBscript through group policy

I followed the instructions and created the group policy exactly as described in the URL below.

This group policy will allow the Manage Engine client to immediately be installed on the servers contained within the Organizational Unit using an immediate task that runs a VBscript as part of the group policy.

https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/installing-agents-gpo-scheduler.html

This group policy has been applied to the OUs where I need to have the Manage Engine client immediately installed on the Windows servers. I have verified this by running the gpresult /h gp.html command on several of these servers and this command has shown that this group policy has been applied successfully.

The problem is that the Manage Engine client still hasn’t been installed on these servers even though these servers show that the group policy has been applied.

Is there anything that needs to be done on these Windows servers so that the VBscript running through this group policy will be allowed to run?

Or what else can be done to fix this issue?

I have reached out to Manage Engine support but haven't yet received a response back.

It could be that vbscript is blocked from running in some way. Hard to tell where, as it could be blocked by privilege, by location or just blocked from running in the background...

This script doesn't use a mapped drive letter.

McKnife,

Thank you.

I'll try using wscript.exe when I have the chance and will then update this posting.

I have changed the scheduled task to use the wscript.exe command and doing this hasn't fixed the problem.
Respond to my latest comment, please.

I wasn't able to get the VBScript to install the agent using group policy so we finally wound up just manually installing the agent on the remaining servers.
You have surely tried my suggestion beforehand, or haven't you? I wonder what the commands returned.

Yes, I did try your comments which were very helpful.

The problem is that it was taking so much time troubleshooting this issue that we finally just decided to manually install the agent on the remaining servers.
