Help 'Automation error' error in VB6 environment
Hi Experts!
I have an old VB6 codes and needed to work with one of them. The project menu didn't have 'Add Data Environment' but fixed it with CTRL-T and check mark Data Environment. Now it appears, But when selecting 'Add Data Environment' if gives error "Automation error":

I proceeded to register MSDE.DLL, DEEXT.TLB and MSDERUN.DLL.. Both DLL registered, but DEEXT.TLB; how do one register TLB?
Note, though this VB6 is old, the system here is under this environment and working to convine to upgrade.
The need to fix the error is because a report is needed to be created and link to the system and this error doesn't permit to continue.
help please

No, this error is not when running an VB6 app. This error is when I select 'Add Data Environment' in when a new VB6 project. That is when open VB6 then click Project >> Add Data Environment then the 'Automation error' appear (see below)

just ignore it there's a lot of things that are not designed.. remember this program went end of live 12 years go

Ok, same error when clicking 'Add Data Environment' . I even tested various compatibility mode, same results
