The printer is Offline. It is connected wirelessly. It is in Windows 10 & Off 365 environment

Hi,
This is a window 10, Office 365 and Hybrid (Local domain and Azure AD) environment.

An employee, who is working remotely (Work from home), has a Printer (Brother MFC – J805DW).
This printer has been used around 3 years. It is using Wireless connection.
Since Yesterday, the Printer is Offline.

I go remotely to the printer.  The things that I did:
1) Restart the computer
2) Then, Restart the Print Spooler
3) Trying to delete the Que lines (there are 2 items that has not yet successfully printed out), but failed (It did not let me delete them)
4) The printer is using wireless connection
5) It is still offline now
Any solution please.

Thanks,

Tjie

Is the printer still on the same IP address that the computer thinks it is on?
Not uncommon for a wireless device to jump to a different address...
You cannot fix an offline printer remotely on your own.

Why?

In layman term, "Printer is Offline" means your computer cannot find / see the installed printer within the local network as there is no network connection between the printer and the wireless router.

In technical term, the WiFi connection between the printer and the wireless router is corrupted and you need to work with the remote user to reconnect the printer.

How?

Nearly all wireless printers without a touchscreen panel has a WPS button to connect to a wireless router and there is also a WPS button on the wireless router.

You need to ask the remote user to long press the WPS button on the wireless router and the router will be put into a state to accept a connection request from the nearby wifi printer. Then, ask the remote user to press the WPS button on the wifi printer and the printer will send a connection request to the wireless router. There is no need to input the WiFi password when the connection is made via WPS.

Have they changed wireless routers or their wifi password? Sounds like the printer dropped off the wireless network.

Here's a YouTube video on how to connect it back:

This won't fix your offline printer issue but to delete failed print jobs from the print queue.

1. Stop the print spooler service.
2. Go to the print job folder C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
3. There you will see the failed print jobs as files.  Delete the files.
4. Restart the print spooler.

Sometimes an online printer won't print because of the failed print jobs.  This is a workaround if you're unable to delete them from the print queue.
I would start with Scott Silva's suggestion: check the printer's IP address. Depending on printer model, you may be able to check from the printer's front panel, or by printing a config page.

Is the address is not correct, make sure the printer is using a static IP address. You can either set that on the printer itself, or by reserving an address on the router.
Have the user go through the printer current config to see with the user to confirm IP and wifi data.

Additionally as others notes check whether the wifi is turned on/ CV connected (user eyes and ears..)
