Steps to prevent Win updates from installing on Server 2012R2 server
What are the steps to prevent Windows updates from installing on a Server 2012R2 server?
Whenever Windows updates are installed on this server and the server is rebooted the server gets stuck and is not able to boot up.
We need to prevent Windows updates from installing on this Server 2012R2 server.
How can this be done?

This server is in the process of being decommissioned.
Because of this we simply need to prevent the Windows updates from installing on this server until the server is fully decommissioned.
If anyone else knows of any other methods besides the ones above to prevent Windows updates from installing on this server please post them here.

If none of the above work, I don't know how else to help you...

Can this be done by entering a bogus proxy server address within the server's internet connection so that this server won't be able to reach the internet?
Or are there better ways of doing this? If so what are better methods of doing this?
