no access to gmail error message but everyone should have access
i have a new google account (on a private domain) that cannot use gmail.
the error message is explicit and states gmail is not available to me because it is not activated.
i have access to the admin console. actually this same user has ALL administration privileges. the gmail app is marked as available to everybody.
anyone has an idea why i cannot use gmail or where to check ?

Have you told Google Workspace to activate Gmail?
Have you told Google Workspace to activate Gmail?
(a) | Return to the browser tab where you have the Google Workspace setup tool open. (You can reopen the tool if you closed it.) |
(b) | Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Activate Gmail.Important! Some registrars may require additional time to publish your MX records. If the Google Workspace setup tool can't find your new records, wait an hour before you try again. |

hi. thanks for sharing.
sorry but neither apply.
i probably forgot to mention i already have a bunch of users using that domain. everything up and working.
@david : i do have a valid address and i can login using it and use drive, calendar, admin and a bunch of other tools. gmail does not even pop in the list.
@jackie : i did double check just to make sure. already active as expected
i also added a second user. same thing
but gmail is configured as "activated for everyone"

We are sorry, but you do not have access to Gmail. Please log in to your Admin Console to enable Gmail. Learn more
