Questions on Tor Browser

Hi Experts!

As I understand VPN uses servers and all data from my computer to X servers to the website visiting is encrypted plus my IP is replaced by a servers (my IP is hidden).  As to Tor Browser, I am bit at loss.  I read its decentralized, super slow and uses independent nodes (yet I was given a pix on TorFlow, see at end, so it seems it’s being used a lot).  So here are the questions,

  • Is it Safe?
  • Would it also hide my IP?
  • Does it carry CPU usage in my computer?
  • Why is said is decentralized?
  • What is independent nodes?
  • As a first-timer, can I test Tor Browser without worries?

How safe do you want to be?  There are ways to compromise VPNs and other services that pretend to give you privacy.  If you're doing 'ordinary' browsing things then any VPN will do.  If you have attracted the attention of major governments, all bets are off.

Tor exit nodes are funded by governments

so that means the government knows where one is coming from?

To close the question, can u help me in the below:

  • Is it Safe? - answered, not like in VPN (less secure than VPN)
  • Would it also hide my IP?
  • Does it carry CPU usage in my computer? (i mean if its a burden on the CPU)
  • Why is said is decentralized? (I read it's that it uses multiple servers, not one as in VPN)
  • What is independent nodes? - answered, funded by gov
  • As a first-timer, can I test Tor Browser without worries?

To close the question, and is because when testing WARP it changed my DNS indicating that THAT additional move provoke more securities as to IPS not seeing what you visit since in deferent DNS; do To browser (or it's configurations) also changes DNS or it uses the IPS DNS?.
