Exchange Hybrid Mailbox Migration Failing

Hi

Having issues migrating a mailbox from our exchange hybrid server to exchange online.

  • Created the AD account,
  • Created the Mailbox in exchange,
  • Verified AD user in 365,
  • Added E3 license
  • Attempted migration,

Seems like the mailbox is already there in 365 somehow..

Exchange is showing the mailbox type as 'User' still, not 365.

However i can log in as that user into Outlook.office.com

Getting error:

Target user 'User' already has a primary mailbox.

   crosoft.Exchange.Management.Migration.MailboxReplication.MoveRequest.NewModernMoveRequest
    + PSComputerName        : ps.outlook.com

Whats changed..?

Thanks

If it is a new user try enabling it as remote mailbox. Please check this article.

But that was created in AAD/365 and then relied on ADC to sync it..?

Would option 2 here be worth a go?

Have resorted to deleting the user account on prem, synching the removal with ADC and re-creating new user/mailbox and attemtping sync.

I now get 'matches multiple entries' on a new-moverequest command

Yes and the command fails:

Ran from PowerShell connected to Exchange online.

Getting the same error: multiple entries.
Yuo have to run from Exchange Onprem Shell.
Locate the affected user account and then right-click on it and click “Properties
Click on attributes tab and then click on the “Filter” button and click  “Show only attributes that have values
Then scroll down the attributes and search for the following entries and clear the values.
msExchMailboxMoveFlags
msExchMailboxMoveStatus

Please be careful while dealing with attributes. Please make sure you have a successful backup of DC.

remove-request command fails with multiple entries.

What about msExchMailboxMoveBatchName and msExchMailboxMoveRemoteHostName?
