Adding a condition to a spreadsheet formula to ignore a word in a column.

Hello all,

I think this should be a fairly basic question I hope. This question is related to Google Sheets, however, a solution should work in Excel, as well.

I have a formula that sorts names in column D.

=sort(FILTER({D4:D150}, LEN({D4:D150})))

But I need to add a condition to exclude any cells in column D that contain "skip."

How do I modify the above formula? Everything I have tried results in an error.

Thank you

Although the suggested Excel formula appears to be working in Google Sheets, my experience is that tweaks are often needed--especially if my test data varies in some material fashion from yours. It's always good to post a sample workbook or a link to your Google Sheets file to avoid such problems.
