How to delete FolderRedirections?
I am trying to delete Users FolderRedirections on a fileserver but I am getting an access denied error. For additional details I am already logged in as domain admin and have full control of the of files. The files are also shared. I deleted the users profile already I just need to delete their files as it is taking up data on the local file.

Once ownership has been taken close all of the Properties windows and then run through the process again.
It may take a few runs at it to get all of the permissions reset.

After propagating it. It is still giving me access denied. Saying I still need permission from Administrators to make the change.
What's the owner on the subfolders to %UserName%\?
The best way to remove Folder Redirection:
1: Set up an OU not connected to the OU with the Folder Redirection GPO
2: Set up and Link a GPO that removes FR and is set to "MOVE User's Contents Back"
3: Move the user's AD Object to the destage OU and log on a few times.
Eventually the user's content will move to the local machine and the folder will disappear from the FR root.
It's never a good idea to mess with the permissions of a user FR root or subfolders even to remove them as that can mess with the entire FR setup ending with lots of grief. BTDT

Change it to the domain admin account being used and Replace.

@Philip Another message that will keep popping up is that the folder is being shared with others. Will that cause a problem for deleting it too?
There should be no share on the %UserName% folder that is at the root of the user's folder redirected folder?
There should only be one share at the root of the GPO setup: \\ServerName\FolderRedirectionsFolderShare and that's it.

We are still having this issue and are still looking for help for this solution.
The setup is not typical for the way Folder Redirection should be set up.
Only the root folder should be shared. That's it. So, something is locking the folder as a result which is what the last snip above is telling you. Remove the share prior to trying to delete the folder.

Also, if it does not come up with that prompt it will say I need permission from Headquarters/administrator s but that is the user I am signed into.
