Arnold, Thanks for the prompt reply. I generally work with JPG images, and I have a large screen. What I would like to do is open a photo and request a "picture package" where I can - for example - print three 4x6 images of the photo on a single page. What you describe seems even better, since I assume I can find the photos in Windows Explorer and drag them onto a template ... any suggestions?
paste it into paint/paint 3d and then move it to position it where you want, be careful as it is more difficult to pick/select the item after.
potentially, after each time the page reflects what you want, save it before going to the next image.
This way if things go side ways, you always have a prior reference.
Do you have Web publishing options?
i.e. it could be a simple to reference your images in a web like page to then print it out.
i also put the jpg 's into word; very easy to resize and arrange them
Windows Photo Viewer
But Microsoft deprecated it during Windows 10 so you'll need to make some small tweaks to run it in Win 11

It has a GUI to do exactly what you're asking.
select the images to print ―> right-click and select Print ―> select the Contact sheet option ―> print (select MS PDF option to check the result first)
35 pics per Letter format sheet

It seems as though using Word is the best option. There used to be a bunch of Microsoft and Third Party options that allowed us to simply open up a series of photos, then print multiple copies or various sizes of selected photos on a single page - but I guess those days are gone :). Thanks for all your help.

Thanks, Joe. I got the program, but don't see where the option to "Open Photos" exists?
click on the View menu ―> Shortcuts & a vertical menu will appear on the left
Paul gave you a good way to do it. I tend to select the photos in my file manager, then right click and run Picture Manager...note that it shows in the context menu as Microsoft Office 2010, not as Picture Manager...here's a screenshot:
Then I like to use the Thumbnail View or the Filmstrip View (buttons in the upper left) to select the photos that I want to print on a single page, and then in the print dialog I select the layout...choices are (can't size the window so it took three screenshots):
For more control over the columns and rows of images, I combine the images with other imaging tools before printing. Regards, Joe
What types of photos?
How large is your screen?
I.e. can you open the photos, arrange them on the screen
Usibg snip and sketch, snipping tool to capture the arranged pictures as a single shoot.
