Provide an authorized person the ability to view-only without approval

I am using Windows 10 and I need to be able to turn on and off the ability for an authorized person to view only without approval.

What is the best free way to set this up?

Windows 10
view only without approval.

thanks but we still need more background and clarification.

what on Windows 10 needs to be viewed without approval from who or where?
any authorized person from anywhere or any device
OBJECTIVE:
Provide an authorized person on any platform and with any device the ability to view my computer screen in view-only  mode without approval

1. Zoom - Zoom can provide this ability if you know the persons Zoom ID but only for 45 minutes without a charge.

2. Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams can provide this ability to some extent if you know the person's email that they use to sign into Teames with but only on an ad-hoc basis requiring manual approval.

3. Anydesk - Anydesk needs the Anydesk address for the device being connected and appears that might be a good option for this.
Remote desktop shadowing can be used for this. See option 5 of https://admx.help/?Category=Windows_10_2016&Policy=Microsoft.Policies.TerminalServer::TS_RemoteControl_2

This can be used via internet, if port forwarding is configured.

See my article about how to set this up: https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/33768/Using-RDP-shadowing-for-convenient-user-support-and-remote-control.html

To add onto McKnife's comment, most call center software platforms have screen monitoring options. Just Google for call center screen monitoring.

Most of them focus on screen recording but some have real time monitoring (e.g. I think Zendesk and five9 both have this).

The commercial options can sometimes make it a lot more manageable (e.g. supervisor sees a list of their agents and double-click on one to start the monitoring).

You can also check out some VNC software, too. I believe RealVNC's software allows you to make a remote connection read-only so you can allow someone to see your screen without changing it.

@gr8gonzo
Yes, Telefone software allows that, but I bet you can't set it to allow viewing without approval. That's rather unique for shadowing to offer.

Ted, is this for sharing code? There are tools for that if this is what you are after.

@McKnife - depends on the software. I was doing some requirements-gathering in a call center once and the supervisor I was interviewing did it without agent approval. The only notification the agent got was a system tray icon that changed (saw it later while I was interviewing an agent). I don't recall which platform it was. It also had some configuration so that if the user was on a particular browser page that collected credit card info, the parallel screen recording stopped.

In a business environment using business resources anything and everything you do is the property of the business.  The business can and often does collect all of this information.

While I worked in a call center, every call was recorded and monitored by QA.. Computer shadowing can show an icon or not. Many times there is no indication to the operator that their computer is being monitored (shadowed) .. sometimes a screen capture would be initiated and stored somewhere. These captures could be reviewed at any time.

Virtually every option is going to require ports to be opened if there is a firewall between the source and target machines. The only option that might not require ports to be opened would be a solution that uses a central server for the connection, like TeamViewer or LogMeIn. I think TV has an advanced option to force all incoming connections to be view-only, but make sure you use 2FA authentication for anything like this.
