How to return to the Web WhatsApp screen

Hi Experts!

How can I maintain web WhatsApp's active in an android mobile phone?  I need to use the Web WhatsApp (https://web.whatsapp.com/) in an android because I cannot install WhatsApp yet.  However, that android mobile I want to answer in via web.  I can do it, but if I stop using it, it presents a screen (see pix below) and can't seem to return back to Wen WhatsApp's chats.

You don't - you use web WhatsApp on a computer in a browser and open WhatsApp on the computer by linking your phone (Android, iPhone) by scanning the QR code on screen.

>> because I cannot install WhatsApp yet.

Because of what? You have installed WhatsApp now on a ... phone and cannot install it on a ... phone because of?

As Simon is saying - your question is not very clear.

  • Yes, true.  But also, I can use and have used Web WhatsApp in my mobiles (tablets, iPad and cell phones).  However, for some reason todau I noticed that after a while not using it, it displays the screen below:

If u notice, there is no link in the page above for the web access again, and whatever link there is, it brings me back here or open a download.

I would like to use Web WhatsApp in this Android, not the actual apps.

Still not sure with your explanation,  but I presume you are using whats app web via your browser on the phone.

Most likely META would have stopped providing whats app service via the web browser or  because the web page is no longer valid on the old link on which your web whats app was working

But to confirm if the service is still available via the web on your android phone, then clear the data and cache of the web browser.  But if you have created and saved favorites on the browser then do not clear the data,   just delete the browser cache only and try login again and this may work, provided Meta has not stopped the service via web on the phone

What web browser are you using on your android device? I'm using Firefox. If get to the site of which you posted the screenshot of, open the browser settings, then enable "desktop mode". Now you should be able to use WhatsApp web without having to install the app. I don't know if other browsers also have a desktop mode.

  • Yes, that is what I am doing.
  • The problem is that after a while I see no chats as when I started the web.

clear the data and cache of the web browser.

  • Haven't tried yet, will do

What web browser are you using on your android device?

  • Edge, Google, Omega and Firefox

..then enable "desktop mode"

  • Yes, that is what I do, it won't web-chat in mobile mode

Guys, from what I read, u guys are accessing web.whatsapp.com with no problem.

Can u guys confirm the following (just to make sure is not my device),

  • Go to ur mobile
  • Open web.whatsapp.com in ur browser
  • Chat
  • Stop chatting and do something else for a bit
  • return to the same browser where u left the chat
  • check if web.whatsapp.com is still displaying the chats or the screen below.

It is not just your device. I am getting the same screenshot too on my device.

Like I said before meta would have stopped providing that web service on the phone browser so that you will be encouraged to use the installed app on the phone like we all do and then link to web app on the computer.   Still not sure why don't won't to install the app on the phone

This looks like the webpage is detecting that you are using web WhatsApp on a mobile device and that it redirects you (after some time) to a page that has links to the app (Android, IOS) or application (MacOS, Windows). You could try what rindo is suggesting - try using the desktop mode. Another thing to try is open web WhatsApp in a private tab and block cookies (when possible) - this may trick the web WhatsApp to think you are on a desktop.

Makes lots of sense guys, thank u.

However, this is the strange thing, it does work and with no mobile SIM chip inside:

  • Each browser I have installed in the android (Edge, Opera, Firefox, Google) works
  • I can enter web.whatsapp.com site
  • I have to scan to QC code scan on each browser in order to start to use web.whatsapp.com (same as PC)
  • I open each mobile browser and chat away with all users for as long as I want
  • PROBLEM: if left unattended, I have to use another apps, or just do something else, the "neutral" screen  I showed u guys en last entry, appears and can't seems to get back in the chats

So yes, makes sense of forcing mobiles to use the apps, is just so strange if that the case, why permitted to aork anyways.

Update:

The problem was that the phone was disconnecting and the other mobile I was using the web.whatsapp failed.  I tested having the phone always connected and on, and it seems what u guys have said of original phone (where apps are on) may have been disconnected or off.
