I'm trying to do some home-recording with two Sure SM57, M-Audio M-Track Duo USB interface, and Reaper (DAW). To get a decent signal in Reaper around -18dB I need to almost max the input (gain) at the M-Track. This does not feel to be right, so I'm questioning myself what do I wrong. Or better, what I'm missing out? Distance from mics to instrument is around 30 cm. The instrument is an accordion.
