how can I fix an iPhone 6s Plus (Model A1634) phone with a black screen?

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

My fiancee has an iPhone 6s Plus (Model A1634) with the following technical issue:  The iPhone 6s Plus is powered on but there is only a black screen.  The iPhone also will not power off.  But, I think the primary concern at this point is the black screen.  That said, I am wondering if there might be a tutorial video that can take a novice like me through the steps of either repairing or replacing the black screen.

Any and all follow-up tutorial videos that are germane to the repair or replacement of iPhone 6s Plus phone screens will be greatly appreciated.

               Thank you

                George

Thank you for this important tutorial link to ifixit.  Upon searching at Amazon, I came up with the following online purchase link for the needed replacement screen for the iPhone 6s Plus (Model A1634)  https://www.amazon.com/6S-Replacement-Digitizer-Assembly-Required/dp/B07D4GNKQM/ref=asc_df_B07D4GNKQM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312111908612&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13925766962988102025&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026082&hvtargid=pla-583965983171&th=1

Would you mind reviewing it to determine if it is the exact replacement part needed?  From the best I can tell, it seems like it will work because it is for the exact model of the iPhone 6s Plus that is needing repairing.

I would look carefully at the tutorial to confirm that you feel comfortable with doing the replacement yourself.  I've been repairing computers for over 30 years and I'm reluctant to tear cell phones apart.  I have done on my devices or a friend's a few times (successfully!), but won't do it for a client.  If I break it, I have to replace the phone.  That's not a risk I'm willing to take.

That being said... .there are plenty of people that do this successfully, so it may just be that I'm overly cautious!

Screen looks like a good match.  If you do go ahead with this you'll need all the correct tools (as listed in the tutorial) recommend you take photos in detail of each stage to help with reassembly.  With Apple devices especially there are a lot of components that are simply secured using thermoplastic adhesive pads that soften and can be manipulated following application of heat packs and it's critical to get the components back into the same places when putting everything back together.  Apple are not known for having any free space inside their cases!

Thank you, both, for answering my question.  After careful consideration, we have decided to simply upgrade to an iPhone 8.  The iPhone 6s Plus is old and has gone through some wear and tear as evident by the cracked screen.  Besides, I don't want to go through hours of tedious work just to find out something else is wrong after reassembling it.

My daughter owns an iPhone 8 with a cracked screen.  She tells me that the Apple store will replace the screen for $50 total.  It may be worth your while to find out what they'd charge to fix your screen.

That's a good plan. The iPhone 6s has probably the longest supported lifespan of the range so far and it seems likely that Apple are going to continue to provide a full range of iOS updates to it for another 12-18 months.
