Problem with configuring a secondary RDS server to the primary license server
I have already setup a Windows Server 2016 STD with RDS on our domain. SFP7 is the name of the server. It is licensed and working fine. I working on setting up the secondary RDS (Terminal server) called SFP8 that needs to point to the SFP7 server as the licensed server. I tried it yesterday and then no one could log in at all on either server. I had to shut the SFP8 down for users to be able to log into the SFP7 server. What is the proper way to configure / install the RDS service on the secondary server and point it to the primary license server SFP7.

I see this in the group policy for the RD Licensing and Licensing security group.
Do I have to go back to the Licensing server (SFP7) and add SFP8 server to member of the RDS Endpoint Servers group on the license server SFP7.
You can use this policy setting to control which RD Session Host servers are issued RDS CALs by the Remote Desktop license server. By default, a license server issues an RDS CAL to any RD Session Host server that requests one.
If you enable this policy setting and this policy setting is applied to a Remote Desktop license server, the license server will only respond to RDS CAL requests from RD Session Host servers whose computer accounts are a member of the RDS Endpoint Servers group on the license server.
Is SFP8 the same OS edition and update level as the existing SFP7?

Is the Broker on SFP7? Was a new Collection created with SFP8 set up in it?
Verify that RD Licensing is happy via the RD License Management Console.
User or Device CALs? Combination of both?
ASKER
Yes the broker is on SFP7
Checking on how to setup a new collection with SFP8
use licensing server group policy
